Hi, it’s Brooke! I cook low FODMAP and gluten free 99% of the time. And we’re still in quarantine, so that’s a lot of cookin’.
My partner Kerry was diganosed with digestive issues like acid reflux and IBS a few years ago. I was having a hard time cooking great food I couldn’t feed him and not getting any praise, so here we are.
I started cooking low FODMAP to accomodate his dietary restrictions, and work on improving our overall health together. Plus, I just gotta take his special thing and make it about me, you know? Unrelated: here’s us to the right.*
I got so good at it, people started telling me to make a blog. So I did, and I gave it an incredible name referencing digestion. Truly my finest work.
In July 2020, tragedy struck. Two weeks after I created this blog for my partner’s restrictive diet, I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis. Treatment? A completely different restrictive diet than Kerry’s. More on that here. What really sucks? That’s not a digestive issue. But, I’d already bought the domain. And posted a bunch of recipes.
The silver lining: I was already blogging about elimination diets – so I was real set up for the journey I was about to take. Now, it’s not a food blog unless I say the following, so listen up so this only has to happen once: Join me on my journey!
