One of my friends went pretty haam complimenting my total beginner food photography lately. I took a behind the scenes pic to show them what I’m really working with here – and thought it would be fun to share here.

As you can see, one chair is for my lamp to shine on whatever food I’m snappin; I have a second chair just to stand on because I’m 5’2″ and it’s… hard to get a good vertical angle.

In other news, after a months-long battle with debilitating chronic pain, I’ve finally been diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis. If you have also been diagnosed with this condition, you know it sucks. It is not a tolerable type of pain and it’s really hard to function and be normal under its spell.

I’m beginning Amitriptyline for IC, but I’ve also been advised by my doctor to take on a new, special diet to reduce irritation – sound familiar? Yeah, it’s what Kerry has to do for his messed up insides. We literally cannot believe we have cute matching diseases. This is the worst kind of power couple ever, and I’m somehow both horrified and delighted by how things have turned out.

What better time to begin a special medical diet to reduce pain than when I just a couple weeks ago started a blog for that! #Blessed.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: I’m now cooking for two completely different, very restrictive diets. I’ll still be posting low FODMAP stuff I make for Kerry, but I’ll also be focusing on Interstitial Cystitis-friendly recipes and posting those as I start to accumulate good ones. Why not?

These will have different tags and categories so, they’ll be easy to avoid if you’re here for gluten free & low fod. Previous recipes will be edited with extra options to show what I do for myself to make those IC-friendly when it’s worth it to do so.

We’ll also have plenty of recipes in the future for the furiously restrictive, small overlap of both diets. Look, we like to eat together. If you’re a sufferer of either of these conditions, somehow cohabitating with someone who has the the other one, buddy – we are gonna get along. Go ahead and subscribe because you’re gonna need it.
